NUKEM, INC LAUNCHES INTO CYBERSPACE WITH DUAL-PURPOSE WEBSITE
NUKEM, Inc. celebrated the New Year in cyberspace with the launch of a "dual-purpose" website - www.nukeminc.com - which acts as both a subsidiary company website and gateway to the company's award-winning, on-line publication, the NUKEM Market Report.
"Our objective in establishing an Inc.-focused site is to attract new and existing customers to learn more about NUKEM, Inc., our professional team, and our nuclear fuel components and specialty products and services," says James C. ("Jim") Cornell, NUKEM, Inc.'s President and CEO. "At the same time, it made practical sense to share this site with the NUKEM Market Report since the magazine is produced here in the U.S. The result is that the website helps build brand awareness not only of NUKEM, Inc. but also of NUKEM at large."
The Inc. website carries the defined graphic elements and the orange/grey color combination of NUKEM's new corporate identity system. The site also has links to the parent NUKEM GmbH site in Alzenau, Germany, in addition to key sites of NUKEM's strategic partners and the nuclear industry, and is blindingly fast. The site was created by ImageWorks LLC of Connecticut under the direction of Elizabeth ("Liz") Martin-Alldred, NUKEM, Inc.'s Director of Market Publications and Editor-in-Chief of the NUKEM Market Report, and Betsy Brown of Vision Design who is the NUKEM Market Report's designer.
Features of the www.nukeminc.com website include a flexible Home Page that accommodates timely news items or photographs (usually with customers). Other site pages carry detailed information on NUKEM Inc.'s history and evolution, it's executive team, and it's products and services against a backdrop of photo collages and splashes of "company orange." Also, industry speeches and Power Point presentations given by Inc. executives are always at hand and readily downloadable in the site's Media Room.
"Our goal is for site visitors to be two clicks away from any part of the website, and sometimes we achieve this with only one," says Liz Alldred.
The site also contains the NUKEM Market Report, which gives password-protected access to current electronic editions only to subscribing customers. A unique feature is the turning page of the magazine's front cover (made possible through Flash technology), which opens up to the Table of Contents, from which all cyber feature articles, data feature articles, and other nuclear market data-packed files can be acccessed. Subscribers can also wander into the E-Library Room, and settle into a comfy chair (you can kick aside the slippers) and click onto any of our "shelved" editions. The E-Library carries a total of 132 NMR volumes from 1992 to the present. Also accessible in the E-Library are Nuclear F.Y.I.'s, an additional feature for our customers and a new way of disseminating timely or late-breaking marketplace "snippets" in advance of the monthly NMR or Inc. executives' industry presentations.
"The inclusion of the NUKEM Market Report and its supplemental publication makes the Inc. website both an effective marketing tool and an industry resource," says Mrs. Alldred.
